I like to go through old magazines to cut out images and text for journal page inspiration. The blue jay is one of my favorite birds. I added the words I needed to tell myself in this spread.

When I realized that I needed to break a bad habit for my health, I decided to make a visual art journal page to reinforce the message. As it turns out, the people I share this with absolutely loved the result! Maybe the message speaks beyond just me?

Blossom

During Spring, I taught a friend how to create a visual art journal page. This is the one I completed while she made hers.

Serenity

I wanted to make a sea or nautical themed page even though I am a prairie dweller. I've been drawn to the sea and its wonders for many years. I used an old book and magazine images, stickers, scrapbook and tissue paper, paint pens and more. Not sure how it would turn out, I just created from the inner flow of my imagination. When life's tasks and events become overwhelming and we feel like a sinking ship, try to find that inner serenity amidst the storm raging around us.

Spontaneous

Using bright colours of paint, I began this visual journal entry with an abstract background. Lines and squiggles crisscross the page, accented with found package and stencil-painted images. Sometimes we get caught up with our fixation on rigid routine that we need to break out of its cage and become enthusiastically spontaneous. Imaginative creativity awaits your next adventure!
