Using the Expressive Arts modes of creative writing and visual art to create this journal page.
What Gives Me Strength
I found an old handmade stamp I carved with the initials of my name. I created a visual journal page about what gives me strength.
Laugh at Yourself
Sometimes when you're having a rotten day, this is the kind of journal page to create!
I like to go through old magazines to cut out images and text for journal page inspiration. The blue jay is one of my favorite birds. I added the words I needed to tell myself in this spread.
Coffee In Moderation
When I realized that I needed to break a bad habit for my health, I decided to make a visual art journal page to reinforce the message. As it turns out, the people I share this with absolutely loved the result! Maybe the message speaks beyond just me?
During Spring, I taught a friend how to create a visual art journal page. This is the one I completed while she made hers.
I wanted to make a sea or nautical themed page even though I am a prairie dweller. I've been drawn to the sea and its wonders for many years. I used an old book and magazine images, stickers, scrapbook and tissue paper, paint pens and more. Not sure how it would turn out, I just created from the inner flow of my imagination. When life's tasks and events become overwhelming and we feel like a sinking ship, try to find that inner serenity amidst the storm raging around us.
