ABOUT

I am an Artist, Tutor through the Arts, Expressive Arts Facilitator, and children's book author.   I use the arts to assist in academic learning and a space to ignite creativity - to discover what makes people come alive!  I promote a space in which all are encouraged to explore through various art forms, the inner life resources ignited by the imagination.  No artistic skill or talent is necessary.

WHO AM I?
BACKGROUND

I have a Certificate in Expressive Arts Training from the Prairie Institute of Expressive Arts Therapy, a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Alberta University of the Arts, and a Teacher Assistant Certificate from the University of Calgary.  I worked at the former St. John Fine Arts Elementary School, as a Ministry Assistant for the RC Diocese of Calgary, and inspired creativity with seniors through the Expressive Arts.

MUSIC INFLUENCE

I grew up in a musical family where we were taught at least one instrument and exposed to a multitude of diverse genres.  I play piano, African Djembe drum, Karimba, and the Bongos.   Music is the art form that motivates me into the realm of action and creativity.

THE ZAP

"ZAP" are my initials rearranged. My muse, what  inspires my artwork, and outlook on life in the "Arts".  I enjoy creating mixed-media art using a variety of materials.  I am currently exploring a combination of visual art journaling, the glue book, and junk journaling.
